North Carolina: The jury is still out on the effects of Helene on brook trout. According to our own "trout catcher" 🙂 Jake Rash, it may take some time to know the effects that the storm - which happened in the fall, at a critical point in the brook trout life cycle. However, he always adds, brook trout are pretty resilient. 

Also, floods and debris cut off may access points that anglers use, and it destroyed one hatchery and damaged several other state and tribal fish hatcheries.
