EBTJV Science and Data
Eastern Brook Trout Science, Datasets and Supporting Materials
Since its first catchment-level assessment in 2006, the Eastern Brook Trout Joint Venture has been keeping an eye on where brook trout are on the map, and providing geospatial data about 'patches' to assist conservation planning. The EBTJV is in the process of updating this assessment (to be released in 2024). Other tools and applications for conservation planning have been developed by other partners, especially the Northeast Climate Science Center, the North Atlantic Landscape Conservation Cooperative, Trout Unlimited, and the USGS.
The EBTJV is also helping to advance the conversation about important topics like road crossing design for Aquatic Organism Passage, the state of the art for brook trout genetics, and identifying stream and groundwater refuges that could support brook trout in a warming climate.
Whitewater to Bluewater (W2B)
The Whitewater to Bluewater project is a collaboration between the Atlantic Coastal Fish Habitat Partnership, the Southeast Aquatic Resources Partnership, and the Eastern Brook Trout Joint Venture that aims to conserve fish habitat in the eastern United States from the smallest headwater streams to offshore habitat in the Atlantic Ocean.
